Independence Days

I am going to do a challenge thrown down by my friend Sharon(see links on the left for her blog), involves doing a lot of your own food production and supporting local producers. The steps are:

1. Plant something
2. Harvest something
3. Preserve something
4. Reduce waste
5. Preparation and Storage
6. Build Community Food Systems
7. Eat the Food

For this week I planted tomato, peppers and eggplant plants that promptly got frost burned.

I may get an asparagus spear this week.

Nothing to preserve right now.

I'm forever composting or feeding scraps to the chickens.

Right now we are eating some of our food storage because I'm too lazy to go shopping.

I sold some eggs and gave some away. I also bought plants from a really local greenhouse.

We eat the food, everyday.
